01․07․2021 A note on the page of Byurakan Observatory about the event held by the "Carahunge Armenological Center".

On July 1, at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia an event organized by the "Carahunge Armenological Center" took place, dedicated to the memory of the head of the department of historical and cultural astronomy of the Byurakan Observatory, senior researcher, head of the house-museum Victor Hambartsumyan, Grigor Brutyan (1955-2021)․
The main speaker, Hovhannes Azizbekyan, presented the most significant armenological works and articles by Grigor Brutyan․
Participants of the evening, including Hayk Malkhasyan, Research associate in the department of Archaeoastronomy and Cultural Astronomy of Byurakan Observatory and Hovhannes Pikichyan, Senior research associate in the department of Theoretical Astrophysics of the Byurakan Observatory shared their memories about Grigor Brutyan. During the event, the participants watched a video in which Grigor Brutyan performed a work by Komitas.
Let us remind that along with activities in the field of astrophysics, Grigor Brutyan was engaged in the study of Armenian calendars. In addition, in 2020 he supervised the complete measurements of the ancient observatory-monument Zorats Karer (Carahunge).
