Updated: Oct 7, 2021

18.06.2021 A series of "Remarkable Meetings"․ Meeting 16.

On June 18, our regular 16th meeting of "Remarkable Meetings" of “Carahunge cultural armenological center" took place.

Speaker: Garnik Stepanyan, vice-rector of the Armenian National University of Architecture and Construction, who led a group of architects and geodesists during a scientific expedition to Carahunge, organized in the summer of 2020 by the Byurakan Observatory and the University.

The topic: Carahunge Observatory as evidence of the age of the Armenian nation.

In particular, Mr. Stepanyan presented the monument through the eyes of a builder and architect, showed some results of modeling and other research/measurements carried out during the scientific expedition in Carahunge.

Carahunge's research is very important to us. They will be continued; new interesting discoveries are expected. It is wonderful that the Carahunge Observatory is under the attention of the Byurakan Observatory and the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, which is a guarantee of preventing further harassment there. "Carahunge Armenological Center” will continue to support the process of scientific expeditions and research in every possible way.

The event was held at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, in the courtyard of which the members of the “Carahunge Armenological Center” planted a cedar (MAYRI) tree a couple of days ago.
