In the final days of April, an online meeting was held between members of the "Carahunge Armenological Center" and linguist Karine Hayrapetyan (Germany). During the session, she presented “The Epic of Baze, Son of the God Ea-Haya”, along with several interpretations that clearly highlight numerous parallels between the Sumerian epic narrative and various locations in Aratta-Armenia.
This epic was only recently discovered and deciphered among ancient Sumerian texts. The tablet contains 29 lines in cuneiform Sumerian. It was first translated into German, which brought it to the attention of the global scholarly community, and then Karine Hayrapetyan translated it from German into Armenian. The text of the epic is remarkably intriguing and offers new insights that provoke reflection and serve as a rich source for scholarly discussions among knowledgeable Sumerologists.
